Hull #1.
My first design and build, the 'Newport Runabout'. She is 34' with mahogany trim, single diesel engine, with enclosed head. Top speed of 32 knots, she cruises comfortably and effortlessly at 15 knots. Her owner added a soft top and dodger for protection from the elements. She was launched in 2008, and resides on the eastern shore of Maryland.
Future versions will offer hybrid/electric propulsion, and can be configured with a full cabin and accommodation forward, hardtop, or soft enclosure. Please, contact me to customize one for your family?

My newest design.
My newest design, the 'Harbour Island Runabout'. She is 6.5 m waterline length, 22' 6" length overall (without swim platform), built of wood composite construction, twin steerable electric pod drives, and fine amenities including enclosed head. Can be built with a soft or hard top for protection from the elements. All of my designs can be customized, to create your own unique vessel. I also have a sister design which is slightly larger at 7.5 meter waterline, 25' 9" overall length.
About
My formal education began studying mechanical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, with a focus on aerodynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, structures, and other interesting stuff. My path then led me to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI, where I contributed to the development of electric propulsion systems for undersea vehicles and weapons. My practical education in Naval Architecture continued with several private firms north of Boston, followed by hands-on experience as a production engineer with multiple yacht builders in New England. In the early 2000's, I launched my own boat building venture, culminating in the completion of the 'Newport Runabout' in the fall of 2008. After the market collapse later that year, I transitioned into the world of super-yachts as an onboard engineer, largely in the Caribbean and east coast USA. This exposure to the finest yachts on Earth honed my appreciation of fine joinery, and reinforced my belief in building vessels which can be maintained easily.
A few years later, I returned to shore to design and build nuclear submarines for the U.S. Navy at General Dynamics Electric Boat.
It has been a well-rounded education, to say the least.

Future Projects
On the drawing board are different sized designs of the 'Runabout'. Plus, designs for several small sailing vessels. Classically styled daysailers which can be used for comfortable weekend trips. Shallow draft, gaff/gunter rigs, traditional lines and rigging, all timber/composite construction, fine amenities, and classic beauty.
